The existence of UFO's in essex!!!!

Ok guys, no joking around now. This is a place for serious discussion. Two saturdays ago, as my brother and I were getting out of my car at my house we spotted 3 bright lights in the sky. We looked at them for several minutes, and found them to be quite unlike anything we had seen before. I have lived in the area for many years and never seen anything quite like this. It was a truly strange thing. We went in to the house and thought nothing more of it until we heard that it had been reported to the MOD and in the national press (the Sun, no less). A short search on the internet has uncovered several videos and pictures of the sighting- and I promise you they really are exactly like the one's my brother and I saw on that saturday. Some of the sights that report on it are reputable UFO sites- such as rense.com and hbccufo.org, a Canadian UFO research site, and ufocasebook.com. There are two others that actually have video of it that you can watch here and here. I wasn't sure about UFO's, nor really bothered by them, and I'm still not sure, but its quite exciting that I have witnessed my very own UFO sighting! I suppose it would make Rob's existence on the planet a little more understandable though. What do other people reckon on the possibility of us not being alone in the universe? I guess at the very least it makes Jon's knitting admission seem a bit less weird...

I'm well impressed. Between the ages of 12 and 15 I was crazy about UFO's but didn't go as far as buying a telescope (I hear Jon Matthews has one!). I'm almost jealous that you've spotted one but I fear there may be an explanation to the lights. Having read the reports the craft moved in formation and passed on three occasions. There happen to be a number of airbases in that region of the country and I'm not sure but I think there is also a test facility there. It's common for the military to run tests in the dark and due to the close proximity to Stanstead they would have been restricted to fly anything under 5,000 feet. I suspect these were unmanned, reasonably small, planes which were probably being tested and observed from the ground and hence the stupidly bright lights.

P.S. I study aerospace engineering so if anyone attempts to challenge my completely made up explanation then they better have at least a PhD.

Hmmmm, I'm a sceptic (like I'd be anything else), but I've never met someone who has had a genuine sighting before. What did the MOD say about it all?

Let us know if you wake up on a strange craft and get probed like you've never been probed before.

Tim, I may have been in possession of a telescope when I was younger (borrowed I might add), but I was never 'crazy about UFO's'. Let me guess, you were obsessed by Star Trek as well.

Hey Tim, good to here from you. Are you still living the dream above Cafe Willy? Thanks for having my back over on the knitting post, Jon needs to know his place. However, your analysis and subsequent explanation of my experience does not sit right with me, and I've got a phD- Pretty Huge... Debts. And Jon, your scepticism disappoints me, explani Robs existence in some other way then.

Yeah still living the dream above cafe coch (to correct you there). I'm concerned that the fact you insinuated the D in PhD to mean male gentiles means you, as well as Jon, have got some size issues. I think if you sign up for a hotmail account you should receive about 5 emails a day advertising penis enlargements. Hope this helps!

Robbo, you've made a fundamental error I'm afraid. Star charts are the tool of astronomers (real scientists), whereas UFO's are in the realm of fantasy and conspiracy theories (ask Trevor, he should know). And you are certainly not boss.

I was thinking about aliens and the like on holiday and what the Bible has to say about them. I've come to the conclusion that they don't exist. I think that IF life did exist on other planets, the inhabitants of those planets would be sinful like ourselves. They would therefore be incapable of having a relationship with God. Knowing the scale of God's love He would love those inhabitants as much as ourselves, but the only way for them to have a full and right relationship with God would be through Jesus. The Bible says that Jesus died once and for all, which leads me to conclude that He did not die multiple times on multiple planets for other life forms. We are unique in our relationship with Christ, and aliens don't exist.

So, the aliens debate has restarted! I'm not sure about the last two posts. Firstly, I don't think that I am gay. And secondly, why does Jesus have to have died for aliens? Do you think that he died for monkeys, or other animals. I think that aliens don't have to have been made in the image of God (like humans), all that means is that they wouldn't be in heaven. But I'm still not sure totally that they either exist or would necessarily have to be sinful like us.
